About Me

me for ws_edited_edited.jpg

My name is Rosa Smith, owner and professional designer-seamstress of Perfect Fit.

My beautiful mother taught me to sew when I was a child. It wasn’t until 1983 when I designed a gown for a friend going to a military ball that I realized my God-given talent.

Since then, it has been my privilege to work with countless brides, contestants, prom attendees, flower girls and mothers of the bride and groom!  It is a pleasure to design and re-design wedding gowns, pageant gowns, and formal gowns. I’ve had clients come from different areas of the country as well as participants in the Miss New York Pageant and Kentucky State Beauty Pageants.  Every client is very special to me.  Each woman receives my personal attention because I want her to know how beautiful and important, she is.

Over the years I’ve expanded my experience with lessons from experienced teachers in such topics as proper garment fitting and couture sewing techniques.

I am a member of the American Sewing Guild, Louisville chapter, and for several years was the leader of a neighborhood fitting group.  I share my talents as a Certified Master Clothing Volunteer through the University of Kentucky Cooperative Extension Service.  I enjoy give back to my community by teaching sewing classes and lead a community service group called the Nifty Needles.

Whatever you do, whether in word or deed,

do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus.
